Charles Dawrin, of British origin, is one of the most important naturalists of his time (and in my opinion of the world) when proposing his evolutionary theory about the origin of species, postulating that all species of living beings have evolved over time from a common ancestor through a process called natural selection.

I admire Darwin for his work and the impact he had on the world, especially in our field of work, which is closely related to the evolution of the human species, but I admire him more for his boldness to break with the science of his time and with the fanatical thought that prevailed many centuries ago (and that still is a belief that for many is not judged). Going against the church in its time was considered the worst in many areas, and especially with the scientific field since it has verifiable sources (unlike religions) that cause uncertainty in believers. We must remember that our ignorance was one of the most powerful weapons the Church had to control its believers and influence their decisions.
